Personal Care PartyCommonly referring to a residential area, it is interesting to note that the Latin origin of our word “community,” was a noun of quality meaning fellowship. LTlov experienced both definitions first hand as Lake Travis joined together once again as “community” to support local children’s shelters through Peaceful Dreams and the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries.  LTlov’s motto, “Do good and have fun doing it!” was abundantly evident at our 2nd Let’s Get Personal Party held on the patio at Strandz Salon on October 26th. What began as a lovely fall evening quickly grew into a beautiful example of community as guests arrived with lavish donations of pj’s and personal care items. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, the Crisis Ministries’ shelves are well stocked for months to come and Peaceful Dreams co-founder, Arlene Uffelman, will deliver 123 pairs of new pajamas to those on the frontline of protecting vulnerable children. The organizations also received cash donations.

LTlov could not have succeeded without the help of the Lake Travis business community’s generous support. Thank you ate.cafe, Flores, Buster’s, Mangieri’s and Pho Thaison for delicious platters of our favorite hors d’oeuvres! Thank you PJ Shop for staying open late and offering a special line of pajamas just for us! Thank you to the Lakeway CVS for discounting the very items so desperately needed by the Crisis Minstries, and to the Lake Travis View and Alphagraphics for helping us promote this event. I am gratified by the trust implied by your support. To those behind the scenes, thank you to the young women of the Lady Cavs basketball team who sorted, bagged and toted many, many large bags filled with the evening’s “treasures.” And finally, Strandz Salon, you are the best!

Sincerely,
 Michelle Zogas, President, LTlov
