Once again the Lake Travis community overwhelmingly responded to a call to action on behalf of the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries and local children's shelters through the efforts of Peaceful Dreams. Based on recent efforts, an expectation for success was high for LTlov's Let's Get Personal Party held Thursday October 28th at Strandz Salon. However, it quickly became apparent that the level of generosity on this night would be astounding. Donations amounting to over 300 pounds of personal care items plus non-perishable foods were delivered to the Crisis Ministries and over 100 pairs of new children's pajamas were collected for Peaceful Dreams. Each organization also received $150.00 in cash donations. The spirit of generosity did not end there, as guests enjoyed delicious foods provided by ate.cafe, Flores, Buster's, Non La and Mangieri's, The merchants of Lakeway's Town Center also contributed to the event's success with the PJ Shop and Lakeway CVS offering special discounts on items purchased for donation at the event, and Alphagraphics who donated all printed promotional materials. With hands-on help provided by the LTHS Honor Society and advertising in the Lake Travis View, the evening truly represented a community wide spirit of giving.
